Tips on maintaining your cutting board to last a lifetime: To prevent warping and cracking in board, do not soak in water, rather clean with wet cloth and dry after each use. Using a light amount of food safe oil on occasion is also good at helping it maintain a moisture balance. When board gets dull and marked, give it a light sand and seal it with Odie's oil or walrus oil or any other food safe oil of your choice. Cutting boards can last a lifetime with care and maintenance.
